New Tests Added!
MedLabs has added even more tests to select from! We recently added new tests, including Thyroglobulin, Weak D, ThinPrep, and more.
Thyroblobulin Tests: The thyroglobulin test is primarily used as a tumor marker to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment for thyroid cancer and to monitor for recurrence. Not every thyroid cancer will produce thyroglobulin, but the most common types, the well-differentiated papillary and follicular thyroid cancers, frequently do, resulting in increased levels of thyroglobulin in the blood.
Weak D: Weak D red blood cells were defined as having decreased D antigen levels that required the indirect antiglobulin test for detection. Weak D phenotype most commonly results from a single point mutation in the transmembrane domain of the RHD gene. Today, weak D antiglobulin testing is required for blood donors and newborns of D negative mothers to detect potentially immunogenic weak D red blood cells.
ThinPrep: ThinPrep Pap Test is the most extensive cervical cancer test available today. It is the only pap test that is FDA-approved as significantly more effective at detecting precancerous cervical cells. It's also approved for HPV, Chlamydia/Gonorrhea and Trichomonas testing all from the same sample, so you don’t have to undergo multiple sample collections.
