Patient must finish drink within 5 minutes. The patient can not eat or drink anything for the next 4 hours. Collect the next 5 tubes 30 minutes, 60 minutes(1 hr), 120 minutes(2 hrs), 180 minutes(3 hrs) and 240 minutes(4hrs) after the patient finished drinking the glucose drink. Label each tube with time of draw and patient's name. Specimens not correctly labeled will be rejected. Avoid hemolysis. Gently invert tubes to mix. Store specimens refrigerated.
